Our Nurse Practitioners:
Deborah Benenson , Certified Nurse Practitioner/Midwife Deborah Benenson is a midwife practicing in Dr. Van Eeckhout's OB/GYN office. She has a 30 year history working in women's health, with extensive experience as a registered nurse taking care of high-risk obstetric patients in labor and delivery.		*Eileen Kerem, Certified Nurse Practioner.* Eileen recently moved to Santa Fe from Chicago, Illinois, where she worked in Women's health for over 20 years. She has extensive experience in providing gynecologic evaluations and exams as well as prescribing medications as needed. She has participated in the care of obstetric patients and served as a labor and delivery nurse for many years. Eileen and her sunny disposition are a great component of Dr. Van Eeckhout's OBGYN team.

Our Staff:
*Cathy Doren, Certified Registered Nurse.* Cathy relocated to Santa Fe from Chicago in 2000. She received her bachelors degree in nursing from Rush University in 1975. Most recently she has been on staff at St. Vincent Hospital in obstetritcs. She has worked in all facets of women's health including labor and delivery, nursing education and management.		Vermelle Thomson, Office Manager Vermelle is the new office manager in Dr. Van Eeckhout's office. She has served as office manager in a variety of medical settings since 1986, both in Oklahoma and New Mexico. She has strong skills in medical billing and dealing with medical insurance companies. Feel free to contact her with issues or concerns.

Georgia de Katona, Medical Assistant. Georgia brings a friendly, positive attitude and a diverse background to her position as a medical assistant. She has an degree in anthropology from UCLA, takes assignments as a freelance travel writer for Fodor's travel guides, and has worked in the arts. She is currently training to be the domestic violence liaison for the office.		Shirley Smith, Medical Assistant Shirley hales from the “Big Easy”. She has had extensive experience as an operating room technician and previous office management experience. In Dr. Van Eeckhout's office she supports patient scheduling for office visits as well as surgery scheduling, chart management and all other office needs.

*Lisa Ortiz,Receptionist* Lisa has served as a receptionist in several OB/GYN offices over the past 10 years. She is very knowledgeable about OB/GYN issues and always willing to be helpful in scheduling appointments. She looks forward to meeting patients in Dr. Van Eeckout’s office.		*Amy Miller, Medical Assistant* Amy has been with Dr. Van Eeckhout since she opened her Santa Fe OBGYN practice in December 2004. Amy serves in many capacities; she is skilled in performing medical assisting, scheduling both patients in the office and for surgery as well as supporting every aspect of the practice. She has extensive experience at St. Vincent Hospital in radiology scheduling and 7 years as a veterinarian technician.

Mary Van Eeckhout, Office Manager Emeritus Mary has been Barbara's Office Manager in Santa Fe ever since the office opened in December of 2004, but turned over most of the duties to Vermelle in the summer of 2008. She has 16 years of teaching experience and recently retired from Los Alamas National Laboratory where she was an administrative assistant. Mary holds Masters and/or Bachelors Degrees from the University of Minnesota, Montana, and New Mexico in various fields of teaching/training.		Marina Archuleta, Receptionist Marina Archuleta joined Dr. Van Eeckhout’s OBGYN office in Jan of 2011. She is a native New Mexican and has served patients in OB/GYN care in Santa Fe for over ten years. She brings a wonderful knowledge of patient care, along with an inviting and friendly personality to our practice. She is currently studying to be an RN while balancing a busy life with her husband and children.

Katy Estrada, CPA http://www.katyestradacpa.com Katy assists our office with accounting, payroll, tax, and insurance issues from her location in Animas, NM. She brings with her four years of accounting experience with an Albuquerque CPA firm. She graduated from NMSU with a Bachelors in Accountancy in 1999.		Ed Van Eeckhout, Business Mgr Ed has assisted his daughter's office with bookkeeping, insurance postings and miscellaneous financial dealings ever since the summer of 2004. He performs these duties remotely from his home in Los Alamos. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering and is a Registered Engineer in the state of Montana.
